Let's not forget to encourage one another
Today I was thinking about how my Christian friends have influenced my life. Constantly, my close Christian friends are the ones who are there for me when I need someone. One of favorite things is when I get encouraged by them when it’s unexpected. It reminds me that I have people in my life who love God and love others. But more importantly, it reminds me of how I should behave towards them, to others, and to God.

It brings to mind a passage in Hebrews 10 that talks about how as Christians we should help each to love and do good deeds. It goes on to say that we should have fellowship and encourage each other. I started to think do I have fellowship? I can put a check by that one, but when it comes to encouragement, I find that I’m only average in this area. I’ve received encouragement through phone calls, text messages, one-on-one visits, letters, and even through Facebook. I’ve used some of the same methods, but I know I could work harder on trying to encourage my brothers and sisters in Christ. I wonder what other methods of encouragement are out there that I might not think of.
Have you ever received or given encouragement to others in a creative way and would like to share?
